Event Preparation

Helmet – DOT approved full face helmet. Your helmet should be less than 5 years old and undamaged. We cannot allow helmets that show signs of a crash or damage outside of normal wear and tear.

Suit – You should have a 1-piece leather track suit. Separate jacket and pants will be allowed if they zip together.

Boots – Boots need to provide full ankle support and fit over your pants. (unless designed to fit under. Matching leathers required.)

Gloves – Your gloves should provide full wrist protection and fit over your track suit.

For Your Machine

Getting your bike prepared is a simple but critical step to a successful day at the track. Our staff will inspect your motorcycle upon arrival to ensure everyone’s safety.

Tires – Tires should be inflated to the correct pressure and have at least 2/3 of their tread life remaining. Street tires are allowed as long as they have good tread life. New tires are recommended. We suggest that you check your tires when you arrive at the track the day of the event. We have a tire vendor on site if you need new rubber or are unsure about tire pressures. Feel free to ask!

Lights – Headlights, brake lights, and turn signals need to be taped over. If lights are still visible through the tape we may ask you to disconnect them or remove the fuse.

Mirrors – Remove or tape over your mirrors.

Securing your bike – Tape over wheel weights with duct tape, and remove or tape over your license plate. If you want to use a camera, secure it to your bike with safety wire.

Check for leaks – Wipe down your bike and check for any leaks or stray fluids. Check oil, coolant, and brake fluid levels.

Tighten it up – Check for any loose parts and tighten any pieces needed. Make sure your oil plug is on tight. We recommend using safety wire to secure it.

Critical Systems – Check your front and rear brakes and clutch to make sure they are operating normally. Make sure your throttle snaps quickly back into place on its own. Check your chain tension.

If everything checks out our crew will give your bike and helmet our sticker of approval and it’s off to the track.

Gas – Although fuel is usually available for purchase at the track, it never hurts to have extra on hand. Keep in mind that a bike on the track consumes fuel quicker than you would think. Check your tank before each session.

Maintenance – Bringing just a few simple tools to the track can be very helpful. We recommend 8 and 10mm sockets and a set of allen/hex wrenches. Think of anything you might need to make small adjustments in the field. Don’t forget threadlocker! If you find yourself in a pinch, feel free to ask any Apex Assassins Staff Member for assistance.

For You

Hydrate – Bring water and electrolyte drinks. Motorcycle riding can take a lot out of you so it’s important to stay well hydrated.

Food – Although the track may have some food for sale, it’s nice to bring some sustaining snacks to eat throughout the day. There is no official lunch break so be sure to stay replenished between sessions.

Downtime – Bring a chair and some type of shade to stay out of the sun when you’re off the track. It can get hot in the desert. If you have a canopy, be sure to secure it in case of wind.
